What Is Aromatherapy?
While massage works on the body, Aromatherapy works on the mind.
This popular upgrade combines the physical benefits of massage with the therapeutic properties of high-quality essential oils. These potent plant extracts are absorbed through the skin and inhaled during your treatment, influencing the limbic system, the part of the brain that governs emotion and memory, helping you feel calmer, more balanced, and rejuvenated.
At The Massage Company in Ealing, we’ve created The TMC Collection, three signature essential oil blends designed to support your specific needs. Whether you’re looking to unwind after a long week, boost your energy for a busy weekend, or simply find calm on a hectic day, there’s a blend to complement your session.
From the moment you enter your treatment room, a subtle “Breathe-Easy” scent sets the tone, creating a soothing, restorative atmosphere that enhances your overall experience.

The Ultimate Experience
Aromatherapy is incredibly versatile and can be tailored to enhance any massage treatment. Add it to a Deep Tissue Massage to support muscle recovery, or to a Swedish Massage to deepen relaxation and promote mental calm.
For the ultimate indulgence, many of our Ealing customers opt for a Double Upgrade, combining Aromatherapy with Hot Stones. The warmth from the stones helps the essential oils penetrate more deeply into the muscles and skin, amplifying their therapeutic effects and leaving you feeling fully restored, relaxed, and rejuvenated.
Your Experience: What To Expect
We want you to love the scent you choose.
The Consultation
When you arrive at our Ealing centre, our friendly front desk team will welcome you and guide you through a brief consultation. During this time, your therapist will introduce our signature blends, allowing you to inhale each scent and choose the one that resonates with you on the day.
Safety First
We use high-quality carrier oils to ensure our blends are safe for the skin. However, please let your therapist know during the consultation if you have any specific allergies (e.g., to nuts or specific plants) or if you are pregnant, so we can ensure the blend is suitable for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Choose The Blend During My Appointment?
Yes. There’s no need to decide in advance. At the start of your session, your therapist will present the oils so you can select the one that feels right for you in the moment.
Does Aromatherapy Change The Massage Technique?
It doesn’t change the massage technique at all. Aromatherapy enhances your massage without altering the pressure or movements. You’ll still receive the full Deep Tissue, Sports, or Swedish massage you booked, with the added benefits of the essential oils.
Is It Safe For Sensitive Skin?
Our blends are professionally formulated with high-quality, nourishing carrier oils such as Evening Primrose and Wheatgerm. If you have highly sensitive skin, let your therapist know, we can perform a patch test or recommend the best blend for you.
Can I Combine Aromatherapy With Other Upgrades?
Absolutely. Aromatherapy pairs beautifully with Hot Stones for a deeply warming, restorative experience, or with a Scalp Massage to enhance mental clarity and relaxation.
Will The Scent Last?
Yes and it’s lovely. The high-quality oils remain on your skin after the treatment, allowing the therapeutic benefits and soothing fragrance to continue working for hours after you leave the centre.
Can Aromatherapy massage help reduce stress and anxiety?
Yes. Essential oils used in aromatherapy can calm the nervous system, uplift your mood, and promote overall relaxation, complementing the physical benefits of massage.
Will it help with sleep problems or insomnia?
Absolutely. Certain oils, like lavender or chamomile, can encourage restful sleep and help you unwind after a long day.
Can it relieve headaches or tension?
Yes. Aromatherapy can enhance relief from tension headaches and muscular tightness, especially when combined with gentle massage techniques.
Is this suitable if I want a gentle, soothing massage experience?
Definitely. Aromatherapy massage is gentle and relaxing, perfect for those seeking emotional and physical wellbeing through a calming, sensory experience.
